At TypingWalah ("we", "our", "us"), we respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website TypingWalah.xyz (the "Site"). Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms, do not access the Site.

Important: TypingWalah does NOT require user accounts, login, or signup. We do NOT collect personal identifiable information (PII) such as names, emails, addresses, or phone numbers.

1. Information We Collect

Because we do not have user accounts, we collect minimal data. The only information we may collect is:

  • Local Storage Data: Your typing preferences (theme, font size, backspace mode, last selected topic/time, and recent test results) are stored locally in your browser using localStorage. This data never leaves your device.
  • Usage Analytics: We may use basic, privacy-friendly analytics (e.g., Plausible, Fathom, or server logs) to count page views and popular languages. We do not track individual users or use cookies for tracking.
  • Firebase Firestore Reads: When you practice, the app reads typing passages from Firebase. Firebase may log your IP address for security and performance. See Firebase Privacy Policy.

We do not collect: names, email addresses, payment information, biometric data, or any sensitive personal data.

2. How We Use Your Information

Since we collect no personal information, we only use local storage data to:

  • Remember your theme preference (light/dark mode).
  • Recall your font size and backspace toggle settings.
  • Pre-select your last used topic and time limit.
  • Show your recent typing results (only to you, on your device).

Aggregate analytics (if enabled) help us understand which languages and topics are most popular, so we can improve content.

3. Cookies and Tracking

TypingWalah does not use cookies for advertising or persistent tracking. We may use essential cookies only if required for functionality (e.g., Firebase authentication is not used, so no cookies). Third-party services (like Firebase) may set their own cookies – please refer to their policies.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:

  • Google Firebase (Firestore) – to store and retrieve typing passages. Firebase Privacy Policy
  • Cloudflare Pages / Firebase Hosting – to host the website. They may collect standard server logs (IP addresses, timestamps).

We do not use any ad networks, social media plugins, or third-party analytics that track you across websites.

5. Data Retention and Security

Local Storage: Data remains on your device until you clear your browser's local storage. We cannot access or delete it remotely.
Firebase Logs: Firebase may retain server logs for up to 30 days for security and debugging.
Security: We use HTTPS encryption and follow Firebase security rules to prevent unauthorized access to passage data.

6. Children's Privacy

TypingWalah is intended for general audiences, including students preparing for government exams. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Because we collect no personal data, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete. You can clear your local storage at any time via your browser settings (which will reset your preferences but not affect your ability to use the site).

If you are in the EU or California, you have the right to be informed about data collection – this document serves that purpose.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. The "Last Updated" date at the top will change. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the revised policy.
